The selectee for this position will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) in the Regional Information Technology Program of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.
Duties
You will plan, distribute, coordinate, and monitor work assignments of others; evaluate work performance and provide feedback to others on their performance; ensure that staff are appropriately selected, utilized, and developed.
You will provide functional and/or technical support to customers to ensure validation of requirements and delivery of Information Technology capabilities.
You will ensure hardware meets system requirements in order to provide information technology capabilities.
You will execute an information technology project from initiation to sustainment to fulfill established requirements that meet specified business missions.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes
- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 801 Program Manager, proficiency level advanced the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing technical guidance on information technology security issues to coordinate information technology projects; 2) modifying and adapting precedent system approaches to meet for specialized requirements of new projects; 3) Utilizing knowledge of Information Management (IM)/ Information Technology (IT) and database management principles and methods to determine the most appropriate methods for delivering services and securing information; and 4) Serve as the Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) supervisor to provide cryptographic security for agency communications. AND I have IT-related experience demonstrating the following four competencies: ATTENTION TO DETAIL - I am able to review data from multiple sources and determine relevant information to a given situation. I draft, edit and disseminate written reports and status updates that are factual, timely and relatively error free; CUSTOMER SERVICE - I develop and maintain relationships with customers with diverse needs. I provide technical information about products and services. I assess the needs of customers and identify or tailor products and/or services to meet their needs. I resolve non-routine problems, questions, or complaints and direct the most complex problems, questions, or complaints to the appropriate person; ORAL COMMUNICATION - I communicate, explain, or defend ideas or information clearly. I listen to others and recognize potential miscommunications; PROBLEM SOLVING - I use logic to identify alternatives to solve technical problems. I identify and solve problems by gathering and applying information from a variety of materials or sources that provide several alternatives. Your experience in the information technology field must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
