About the Position: This position is located with the Army Sustainment Command, Rock Island Arsenal, IL
Duties
Plans, coordinates, and implements military and civilian visits and functions.
Serves as Protocol Specialist for the U.S. Army Sustainment Command (ASC)
Ensures proper operation for all functions involving military and civilian visitors of national and international importance.
Designs and develops biographical sketches for high-level guest speakers and hard copy programs for events.
Plans, coordinates, and implements military and civilian visits and functions.
Ensures proper courtesies and honors are afforded to honorees and guests.
Analyzes trends from previous fiscal years and provides input to annual budget.
Advises and assists on proper ordering methods and requirements.
Plans and executes internal programs for the office
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 Secret Security Clearance.
- Temporary duty travel of up to 25% amy be required.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain a government passport.

Specialized Experience at the GS-11 Grade Level: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled which includes: planning a wide variety of official or social events to maintain event schedules; providing guidance on protocol requirements for official or social events; preparing documents, correspondence or reports related to events and protocol; coordinating itineraries or schedules for distinguished visitors and/or senior leaders. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position (or equivalent) in the federal service (GS-09).

Education Substitution: Successful completion of at least a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Business Management, Public Relations. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Experience and Education Substitution: If you have some, but not all, of the experience or education described above, you may still qualify by combining the amount of creditable experience and education that you possess. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education in excess of 36 hours (total semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at 100% to qualify. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
