Duties
Serves as a strategic planning officer directing, integrating, and managing command-wide, top-level, high-visibility efforts related to DA's concepts and initiatives for unprecedented change in its overall core competencies.
Independently initiates, leads, and conducts complex research/analysis crossing multiple functional disciplines to assess and evaluate mission alternatives for inclusion in Command-wide strategic plans and studies.
Serves as a Command leader in the planning and execution of the DOD/DA munitions mission and industrial base strategic planning.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technical Management Practitioner Certification within 60 months of entrance on duty.
- This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Developing all parts of organizational strategic plans. (2) Implementing, administering and advising leadership on all required parts of the agency strategic plans. (3) Conducting analysis of all strategic guidance, policies and plans at the Command and higher level components. (4) Conducting organizational evaluation and process improvement analysis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
