The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the smooth operation of the Installation Deployment Readiness Cell and to provide a complete range of readiness, planning, and logistical support to the commanders and all organizations within the wing.

Duties
Provides logistics planning and programming services. Responsible for Logistics Plans operations including deployment, the base support plan and the Installation Deployment Plan. Establishes work priorities, with the section chief and ensures deadlines are met.
Plans and Integration. Under direction of the Installation Deployment Officer, performs logistics support for all
contingency, exercise, and emergency deployments and movements.
Provides direction, development and maintenance of the wings deployment program.
Plans for and evaluates logistics readiness. Reviews tasked plans and Air Force Force Generation (AFFORGEN) requirements to ensure availability of required material and personnel to identify existing shortfalls or limiting factors.
Assists with and monitors a variety of unit readiness assessment activities such as operational readiness inspections (ORI), operational readiness exercises (ORE), and other command and local exercises.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions, Logistics Management Series 0346.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of Air Force Planning, procedures and policies to ensure a complete and accurate plan. In-depth knowledge of Air Force organization principles and functional responsibilities of all base units (to be able to define proper responsibility for planning actions) Knowledge of the concepts, principles, practices, laws, and regulations of mobility operations; and of Department of Defense (DoD), and Air Force policies and procedures. Position requires knowledge of manpower/manning policies, proper manning practices, costing policies, and procedures, reimbursable costs, and their impact on all organizations and facets of DoD and other Federal agencies. Be thoroughly familiar with all areas of base operations, wartime operations, deployment planning, and knowledge of all agencies supporting functional areas.

EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge and skill in the application of DoD, Joint and Air Force (AF) Logistic Plans, principals, concepts, and methodologies. To plan and execute deployment, exercises, and base support planning, concepts, procedures, guidance and policy.
Knowledge and skill to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, devise solutions to problems, and identify shortfalls/changes required.
Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of program operations.
Skill in conducting briefings, meetings, and interviews with supervisors/employees to obtain specific and unique information about organization missions, functions, and work procedures.
Ability to work with Senior members of the wing staff, DoD, United States Air Force (USAF), other Major Commands (MAJCOMs), sister services during day-to-day operations, contingencies, and special projects.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally, and in writing, to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
