You will serve as a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the FLEET SUPPORT TEAM (FST) DEPARTMENT, LOGISTICS DIVISION of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

You will provide technical competence, knowledge and professional services required to sustain a weapon system, associated components, and related support systems. You will lead a team that is responsible to develop new and unique solutions to complex problems. You will approve specific logistics products, such as maintenance Plans, Source Maintenance and Recovery code change requests, Design Change notices (DCN) and other designated products. You will establish and maintain plans to meet program Cos-Wise Readiness and Total Ownership cost goals and objectives.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience: 1) Leading teams through high tempo, high impact work; 2) Understanding inspection baseline supportability management; 3) Assessing Logistics implications associated with sustainment of an aviation weapon system - Air Vehicle, Propulsion, etc. and provide Logistics cognizance over engineering or logistics technical products; 4) Analyzing root cause of fleet problems and implementing long term fixes, working with industry, Service personnel, and engineers to accomplish; 5) Influencing training, troubleshooting, or other improvements to increase maintainer autonomy and improve operational readiness; 6) Reducing and communicating complex issues into intuitive information to support decisions to ultimately improve readiness or reduce costs; 7) Interfacing with multi-national customers and adapting solutions to meet Sovereign requirement; 8) Interfacing with OEMs and developing long term support solutions within the existing contract scope, or modifying contracts to meet the needs of the program.
