About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center within the Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security Division, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Training Specialist and manager in order to schedule, track, document, research training data, establish training calendars and provide resources on established programs.

Duties

Manage Operations training requirements for the organization. Perform research to analyze and evaluate training and delivery methods. Establish long and short range training calendars and provide command quarterly reporting data. Provide training to personnel as the Master trainer and user of the organizations Digital Training Management System (DTMS). Establish and recommend training plans and programs for the Command. Coordinate with local and off post military schooling and prepare packets for course submission. Provide in and out processing of civilian and military personnel into a myriad of automated systems. Track, report and answer inquiries concerning course qualifications, requirements, prerequisites, and application procedures for school attendance.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel security investigation is required.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3, Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Education, Organizational Development, Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (36 semester hours) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
