About the Position: Serves as an instructor within the Department of Leader Training working directly for the Chief of the Advance Leadership Division located in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Duties
Performs instruction in executive skills competencies and leader development programs within the Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCoE) and while TDY at other locations.
Assists the Department of Leader Training, and senior Army Medical AMEDD leaders in analyzing, classifying, categorizing, and describing executive skills.
Provides executive leadership coaching of Army leaders as part of a personalized leader development program.
Trains and certifies other military and civilian instructors as facilitators of The Leadership Challenge instruction.
Assists in problem resolution through liaison/negotiation with multi agency, federal and Non-federal organizations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary duty travel is 5% of the time.

Individual Occupational Requirements
Education: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.
AND/OR
Specialized Experience: Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
Supervising or administering a training program.
Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.
Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes to obtain, select, adapt, and use most effective instructional material, methods, and techniques; carries out assignments independently, establishes priorities, affects, resolves problems, reviews own work for conformity to policy and requirements; independently responsible for planning and carrying out assigned classroom and field activities according to course objectives; and participates in content development from specialized subject-matter knowledge. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11.
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Education, Instructional Design, or Business Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent GS-11.
