About the Position: This is a Financial Management Specialist position with the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command in Redstone Arsenal, AL. Incumbent will serve in the G-8, Audit Readiness, Systems, and Policy Division.

Duties
Develops alternative courses of action in order to present findings and recommendations to the G8 for increasing the standardization and effective of financial processes while maintaining auditability requirements.
Reviews documents, business processes, system capabilities, regulations and policies to identify an auditable path forward.
Oversees the travel program which includes ensuring customer service/assistance is provided to other Lead Defense Travel Administrators and Organization Defense Travel Administrators, and travelers.
Maintains the integrity of the program requirements by monitoring the command program to ensure travel is performed within the scope of appropriate guidelines and regulations.
Performs Agency Program Coordinator duties for Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) program
Performs Lead Defense Travel System Administrator (LDTA) duties and responsibilities in the Defense Travel System (DTS).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
- This position requires the ability to obtain the Financial Mangement Level 2 certification.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11) level in the Federal service which includes 1) Responding to audit sample requests in order to provide support to the Risk Management Internal Control Program; 2)Tracking government travel charge card accounts for delinquency or misuse; 3)Modifying travel profiles on travel systems like Defense Travel System; AND 4) Reviewing travel orders to ensure travel expenses and billing methods are in compliance with travel regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (NH-02/GS-11).
