You will serve as a MANAGER in the SENSORS WEAPONS AND LAUNCHERS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.
This Position will serve as a Deputy Department Manager in each of the four Line Departments at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division.
Duties
You will serve as Deputy Department Manager and be responsible for overseeing executive Department business processes and procedures.
You will assist in the Department's overall effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity.
You will monitor and coordinate tasking and continuous work within the division and projects.
You will be responsible for assisting with the Department business plan, hiring plan, personnel actions, conflict resolution, facilities planning, quality, safety, training and indirect budget planning.
You will analyze Department information to solve problems and encourage consideration of alternative solutions.
You will lead technical teams of professional engineers, technicians, and logisticians, as well as diverse teams of financial, business, administrative and technical experts in business operations and project management.
You will develop and implement plan and strategies to ensure optimal combat and war-fighting readiness.
You will oversee the development and execution of initiatives to enhance fleet capability.
You will be responsible for the oversight, execution, and reporting of large budgets to ensure optimal resource allocation, transparent reporting, and continual budgetary.

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-05 (GS-13/14 grade level equivalency), in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sectorleading and managing technical teams to establish objectives, set priorities, and develop strategies and solutions for an effective execution of Department initiatives to enhance fleet capability.
