About the Position: This position serves as a Doctrine Development Analyst within the Combined Arms Doctrine Directorate (CADD), with duty assignment at Fort Leavenworth, KS.
Duties
As a Doctrine Development Analyst, you will perform duties to include but not limited to the following:
Serve as a Senior Doctrine Development Analyst for the Combined Arms Doctrine Directorate (CADD) and lead doctrinal developer and analyst, expert historical researcher, and author of Army operational doctrine.
Supervises and provides leadership and guidance to four to six subordinate personnel.
Establishes performance standards and evaluates overall subordinate’s performance.
Sets priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Prepares and coordinates assigned doctrinal materials.
Participates as a member of the faculty or observer trainer in research, instruction and training related to joint and Army operational doctrine.
Analyzes changes in joint and other services’ doctrine and techniques to determine impact on Army operational doctrine.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- This position has a business travel requirement of approximately 20%.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) developing, analyzing, planning and producing doctrine materials related to strategic, operational, and tactical levels of war; 2) experience in conducting literature and historical research and studies; and 3) presenting results of research via memorandums, reports, studies, and formal briefings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
