You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPBUILDING) in the Readiness Directorates (N46 N47 N48) of CNSP WTRFNT REDI.

Duties

You will be responsible for the initiation and coordination of all phases associated with the alteration, modernization and repair of all assigned ship projects. You will coordinate communications related to the identification of all deficiencies, assign responsibility for corrective action, and initiate work authorization for corrective action. You will utilize skills and experience to prevent or alleviate production delays and scheduling conflicts. You will regularly interface with both internal and external contacts for the purposes of negotiating costs, exchanging information, scheduling operations, and discuss other concerns. You will assemble necessary reports, data, and prepare or assist in the preparation of final ship status reports.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

FOR GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level, GS-11, or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience overseeing the planning and production control of ship readiness operations (e.g. manpower/manning, equipment, maintenance, material, or training) to resolve technical modernization issues and meet mission objectives.
