You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION CONTROLLER in the EXPEDITIONARY MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT of SOUTHWEST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER.

Duties

You will assure the implementation of work associated with proper resource allocation for maintenance efforts and integration with support contractors. You will plan and estimate technical requirements and specifications, the effective use of resources for repairs, supply support functions, and establish budgetary requirements to perform replacements or overhauls of ship systems. You will control entry of all scheduled availabilities to drive work assignments, resource allocation, and forecasting of workloads. You will assure work is accomplished effectively, solve technical and management problems, and make recommendations for improvement to work methods. You will provide reports of material delays or problems that adversely affect satisfactory completion of scheduled repair work as well as problems that affect the end-cost, quality, schedule and performance of material orders.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning and overseeing maintenance level work, work load leveling, capacity projection, and the effective use of resources to replace, repair, or overhaul ship's systems and components for the effectiveness of fleet operations.
