You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPBUILDING) in the FORCE READINESS DIRECTORATE (N46, N47) of COMMANDER, NAVAL SURFACE GROUP SW.
Duties
You will be the point of contact for assigned ship class(es) and responsible for the current combat readiness and material condition of assigned ships.
You will provide oversight, guidance, and direction to assigned ship class.
You will plan and assign work to subordinates.
You will conduct research to obtain background information, collaborate with embedded Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) representatives, and submit reports on ship’s inability to meet mission requirements.
You will participate in planning and execution of repair and maintenance for mission essential systems on assigned ships.
You will prepare and present justification for organization structure, manpower and personnel requirements to accomplish assigned missions and functions.
You will conduct and attend higher level official meetings and conferences.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- This position requires you to be willing and able to work onboard ships to attend meetings.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Overseeing the production and scheduling of ship overhaul and maintenance projects by analyzing, planning, and managing resources (e.g., manpower, materials, funding, equipment, polices) to ensure combat readiness.
