Duties
You will coordinate total effort involving scheduling, planning, design and material for overhauls, conversions, modifications, repairs and activation/deactivation of vessels.
You will oversee contracts for the repair and modernization of naval vessels from completion of advance planning and award of the contract through production.
You will oversee the preparation, completeness, accuracy and distribution of specification packages in accordance with predetermined milestone dates.
You will review and accept authorized work requests from sponsors and ensure requested work does not constitute unauthorized repairs.
You will provide cost estimates to customer requests for funds and authorize material orders.
You will provide data and technical advice to contracting officers to support contract negotiations.
You will verify availability of material through contractor/class maintenance team resources, obtain funds, assign processing priority and authorize funding expenditures.
You will resolve problems that affect the schedule, quality and end cost of the contract by directing corrective action.
You will plan emergent repair availabilities.
You will manage ship repair job orders and contracts by observing contractor progress and monitoring all work to anticipate, prevent and minimize delays.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to satisfactory complete the CNRMC workforce development training.
- You will be required to able to satisfactorily complete all Job Certifications requirements.
- This position may require you to work onboard ships.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing the contracts and project functions by administering the repair, overhaul and maintenance of navy vessels to improve modernization efforts.
