About the Position: Serves as a Senior Budget Analyst in the Program and Budget Division, Garrison Resource Management Office. Assists the Budget Officer through active involvement in administering the total budget program for the Garrison of Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Air Field.

Duties

Develop local schedules to meet time-phased requirements for completion of the installation budgets to superiors. Analyze trends in fund utilization for the preparation of status reports depicting causes for major deviations from programmed targets. Interpret budget policies received from higher-level and publishes local implementing directives and regulations. Provide guidance to other Budget Analysts in the compilation, review, and development of recommendations for consideration. Assist in the preparation of budget briefings.

Requirements

• This position requires Level II Certification in Financial Management to be obtained within 24 months of hire.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes : Evaluating programmed distribution of available funds submitted by program directors against mission and workload objectives to ensure proper balance of funds distributed to support requirements; reporting data in an automated system in accordance with established procedures; and developing technical budget guidance to be followed by other budget/resource management personnel, program directors, and activities with budget reporting responsibilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
