About the Position: Serves as a Senior Budget Analyst in the Program and Budget Division, Garrison Resource Management Office. Assists the Budget Officer through active involvement in administering the total budget program for the Garrison of Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Air Field.
Duties
Develop local schedules to meet time-phased requirements for completion of the installation budgets to superiors.
Analyze trends in fund utilization for the preparation of status reports depicting causes for major deviations from programmed targets.
Interpret budget policies received from higher-level and publishes local implementing directives and regulations.
Provide guidance to other Budget Analysts in the compilation, review, and development of recommendations for consideration.
Assist in the preparation of budget briefings.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is a Term position - Not to Exceed 4 Years.
- Term employment is subject to a one year trial period.

- This position requires Level II Certification in Financial Management to be obtained within 24 months of hire.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes : Evaluating programmed distribution of available funds submitted by program directors against mission and workload objectives to ensure proper balance of funds distributed to support requirements; reporting data in an automated system in accordance with established procedures; and developing technical budget guidance to be followed by other budget/resource management personnel, program directors, and activities with budget reporting responsibilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
