About the Position: This announcement is for a Budget Analyst position with the U.S Army Sustainment Command 406th Army Field Support Brigade located at Fort Stewart GA.

Duties

Serves as the primary General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) user for the Logistic Readiness Center (LRC) and acts as the coordinator for training and access to GFEBS. Interprets budget policies, directives, and regulations received from higher headquarters to prepare local implementing instructions. Analyzes program and budget guidance and instructions from higher headquarters to determine impact on local operations. Manages the organization’s Defense Travel Service (DTS) accounts.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 10% of the time.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain the Financial Management Level 2 Certification.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Secret background check.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) experience applying budgetary policies, precedent-setting decisions, procedures, and regulations to ensure budget forecasts and/or estimates conform to requirements, guidelines, and financial objectives. 2) experience using an automated web based financial reporting and accountability system such as General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) to produce reports to include status of funds, commitments, obligations, accruals, and disbursements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Finance or Accounting. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget Formulation, Justification & PresentationComputer SkillsConcepts, Policies and Principles of BudgetFinancial Management Systems Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
