This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, National Finance Center (NFC), Government Employees Services Division (GESD), Web Applications Directorate (WAD), Human Resources Applications Branch (HRAB), Section 1 in New Orleans, LA.
The incumbent will serve as a team member responsible for providing application-programming support for new and redesigned software.
Duties
Serves as the project or technical lead for work involving application development activities for HR software projects primarily utilizing PeopleSoft.
Analyzes functional specifications and translates them into applications that automate business processes.
Develop functional requirements and specifications for application development, and programs involving software, system components, or services in support of a user community with individuals in more than one organization or program.
Develop software using People Code.
Research, design, program, and test computer software using People Code.
Develop the Structured Query Language (SQL) or scripts required to process the program or series of programs in both test and production environments.
Prepares and delivers formal presentations and briefings to personnel to instruct, respond to queries, and incorporate comments concerning the use of Government, to gain support for system policies and secure system input.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent in the public sector. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience leading implementations of projects utilizing PeopleSoft to support Human Resources organizations. Experience in people code and PeopleTools. Experience with Configuration Management processes and tools (Quest STAT). Experience with all phases of the development life cycle (planning, requirements, development, software testing, implementation, and documentation). Experience in writing Application Engine programs and Structured Query Reports (SQR) for PeopleSoft.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
