About the Position: This position is located with the US Army Sustainment Command, 406th Army Field Support Brigade with the Support Operations (SPO) Branch at Ft Liberty, NC.
Duties
Supervises/directs subordinates division chiefs establishment of goals and objectives, work planning and organization, work assignments, and personnel management responsibilities.
Manages a workforce comprised of civilian and military personnel performing various logistical functions.
Serves as the technical expert and Senior Civilian Deputy to the Support Operations Officer.
Manages the support and logistics operations for the Army Field Support Battalions (AFSBn) to include contingency mobilization deployment support plan to MFGI and contract management.
Interprets procedures and policies in problem situations where the operating staff or other organizations seek guidance and solutions to difficult problems.
Coordinates and directs project management over logistics operations executed by government and contract personnel.
Provides program continuity and advice to the Support Operation Officer to maintain and improve logistics operations within the organizations area of responsibility.
Has technical knowledge and manages the sustainment of current applications used within the Support Operations, to ensure they are functionally providing the intended material master data to the customers across a range of automated systems.
Requirements
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 25% of the time.
- This position is designated a Mission Essential.
- This position is designated as a Key position. This position shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impacting the organization to function effectively.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year specialized experience which includes 1) evaluating logistics readiness through the analysis of compiled data, policies, procedures, or regulatory requirements; 2)) identifying deficiencies in logistics support and 3) coordinating corrective actions to increase support effectiveness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
