Duties
The incumbent will serve as an Administrative Officer for the Associate Director for Laboratory Programs. The incumbent is expected to independently perform the full range of administrative officer responsibilities. Responsibilities include administering the budget, financial management, human resources, and other general administrative activities consistent with programmatic objectives and NIST policies. The incumbent routinely confers with and advises management to identify and resolve administrative problems and needs and is also expected to provide guidance, advice, and information on these matters to other organizations. General administrative activities include, but are not limited to, acquisition actions, assistance awards, bankcard activities, and travel management. The incumbent will be expected to perform duties independently with minimal guidance and have the ability to effectively perform analysis and issue resolution.

Qualifications
This position requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 (ZA-2 at NIST) level. Specialized experience is defined as experience coordinating administrative functions for an organization to include budget planning, financial management, human resources management, acquisitions, travel management, property management, and space management. Applicant must have the ability to research, analyze, or evaluate data, policies, or work processes independently without guidance from supervisor.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
