This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serves as a Lead Logistics Management Specialist and Team Leader overseeing Total Package Fielding (TPF) programs.
Duties
Serves as a Lead Logistics Management Specialist and Team Leader overseeing Total Package Fielding (TPF) programs for Materiel Fielding and Training, Tank-automotive and Armaments Command and associated Program Managers.
Leads fielding as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provides de-processing and transfer of various new or displaced equipment to members of the United States Armed Forces.
Oversees all assigned logistics, supply and fielding programs and participates in meetings with program management, sustainment, and contractor personnel as TPF subject matter expert.
Manages and coordinates Total Package Fielding (TPF) requirements and schedules for team.
Prepares reports and maintain records of work accomplishments and administrative information, as required, and coordinate the preparation, presentation, and communication of work-related information to the supervisor.
Researches, learns, and applies a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify, assess, analyze and improve team effectiveness, efficiency and work products.
Leads the team in assessing its strengths and weaknesses and provide leadership to the team in exploring alternatives and determining what improvements can be made.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 75% of the time.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- The incumbent must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- The position requires the wear and use of prescribed personnel protective equipment.
- Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
- This is a Term position scheduled to last 13 months. A term position may be extended to a maximum of eight years depending upon the needs of management.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) Integrating separate logistics functions to evaluate performance for systems and equipment; 2.) Applying logistics regulations to develop support plans; 3.) Applying analytical methods to resolve logistics issues; 4) Providing technical expertise in support of integrated logistics support requirements; 5) Reviewing completed work to see that the supervisor's instructions on work priorities have been met. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
