About the Position: You will serve as a Logistics Assistance Division (LAD) Support Branch Chief responsible for planning, directing, managing, coordinating, and implementing the numerous programs and technical & training activities designed to accomplish the division mission and program objectives.

Duties

Executes managerial and executive planning in determining how best to accomplish assigned roles in conjunction with the accomplishment of the overall Logistics Assistance Division (LAD) mission. Performs administrative personnel management responsibilities, through subordinate supervisors, related to the accomplishment of the mission assigned. Conducts overall program direction and appraisal of assigned area through study of reports and discussions with key operating and staff personnel of the LAD.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics Certification within 48 months of entrance on duty.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • his position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • You may be required to deploy to, and remain in, hostile zones during crisis situations or mobilization, which may require flying in military aircraft.
  • You may be required to live under field conditions; in tents consuming field rations such as Meals Ready to Eat (MRE).
  • Single parents or families, where both parents are EE, are required to prepare and present their supervisor an approved family care plan.
  • The employee may be on-call, work irregular hours, accompany the assigned Unit during technical and training field exercises, and deploy to contingency areas to provide technical and logistics assistance.
  • This position is subject to a mobility or rotation agreement as a condition of employment. You will be required to relocate based on management needs for the duration of employment in this or successor positions.
  • You may be required to wear military type uniforms, protective and or Organizational Clothing, Individual Equipment (OCIE), and Chemical Defense Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) specific to an operation.
  • Valid U.S. State driver's license is required to obtain a military and/or international driver's license for exercises, deployments, or assigned to a foreign duty station. Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid host nation vehicle operator license.
  • You must meet current physical and functional requirements IAW AMC-R 700-19 and the current MOD to USCENTCOM Individual Protection and Individual -Unit Deployment Policy before employment and annually.
  • The employee is responsible for ensuring no medical, dental, vision, or other health-related restrictions could prevent a deployment.
  • You will maintain all required immunizations. If required, you will receive a series of vaccine immunizations to include Anthrax and annual boosters. Failure to receive vaccines may result in removal from the position.
  • You cannot be a Reserve Component or National Guard member subject to recall to active duty. The employee must report military recall status to management to effect removal from the Ready Reserve or exemption from retiree call-up.
  • Overseas assignment will be in IAW established tours as defined in DoD Civilian Personnel Joint Travel Regulations unless mission dictates otherwise.
  • You must always maintain a valid "No Fee" (Official) and a Tourist Passport at the agency's expense.
  • The employee must maintain a Government Travel Credit Card (GTCC) IAW applicable rules and regulations. Failure to obtain or maintain the GTCC will result in disqualification and/or termination from the position.
  • The employee will maintain government provided telephonic means of communication which LAP E-E/MM personnel are required to answer during duty and non-duty periods and respond to requests for information and assistance.

CES provides leader development opportunities for Army civilians. The following course and time requirements apply to this position:
  • The Foundation Course (FC) is required for all employees hired after 30 September 2006.
  • The Supervisory Development Course (SDC) must be completed within one year of placement into the position.
  • For supervisor at the GS-13 to GS-15 levels (or equivalent pay bands), the Advanced Course (AC) must be completed within two years after placement into the position. This is a DOD Demonstration Project position. Under the Defense Authorization Act, personnel management demonstration programs are operating in numerous Army activities and various other organizations supported by Army civilian personnel centers. Under the streamlined personnel operations for the demonstration projects, the familiar 15 General Schedule grade structure is replaced with broad pay bands that typically encompass a range of grades. For example, acquisition jobs in level NH-III of broad banding encompass the traditional GS-12 through GS-13 grades. Other initiatives under the demonstration projects include simplified job classification, streamlined hiring processes, and expanded developmental opportunities.
