About the Position: This position is located in US ARMY 1ST SPECIAL FORCES COMMAND ACOFS, G-3 FORT LIBERTY, NC.

Duties

Serve as the senior training specialist and advisor on training matters for the command. Develop, manage and/or recommend training plans, programs, procedures and policies in accordance with JCS, HQDA, TRADOC, USSOCOM, and USASOC directives and guidance. Perform supervisory duties and responsibilities for four GS civilians, Active Component/military enlisted personnel in the grades of E-8 and below. Assign work and prepare plans to meet changes in workload; justifies revisions in staffing levels, work priorities, and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Experience in Developing, managing, and recommending training plans, programs, procedures, and policies in accordance with directives and guidance. Experience in Providing institutional expertise for training input into the planning, programming, and budgeting system (PPBS). Experience in performing supervisory duties and responsibilities for civilians and Military personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
