About the Position: Serves as a principal Budget Analyst. Provides analysis and evaluation of these major appropriations funding mechanisms throughout the complete Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution Systems (PPBES) cycle to ensure proper integration, data integrity and consistency in analysis and presentation.
Duties
Prepares and presents appropriate integrated, consolidated, analyzed, and/or special budget management data.
Provides expert advice to program and financial management officials of AMC.
Studies, reviews, and analyzes assigned appropriations and presents recommendations to accomplish improvements, expenditures, cost benefit analysis, trend analysis, etc.
Reviews and Evaluates Fund Requirements.
Analysis fund requirements for the development, procurement and modification of national and international programs and weapons systems.
Studies, reviews, and analyzes assigned appropriations and presents recommendations to accomplish improvements, expenditures, cost benefit analysis, trend analysis.
Keep abreast of new trends such as Planning, Programming and Budget Execution System (PPBES).
Operates web based data systems for externally developed information sources.
Analyze data that is reflected in the General Funds Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) Order Control Process.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a Secret clearance.
- TDY be required occasionally.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- A Financial Management Certification is required. This certification requirement is a condition of employment for this position. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a wide range of budget and administrative functions to manage budgetary program, policies, and procedures; Experience with Planning, Programming and Budget Execution System (PPBES). Perform comparative analysis and analytics; financial review and analysis of data from systems such as General Funds Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), cPROBE; and providing fiscal advice, assistance, and recommended courses of action to all staff echelons and organizations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
