About the Position: This is a Budget Analyst position located at US Army Recruiting Command, 5th Recruiting Brigade. Incumbent will maintain budgeting systems, develop an annual operating budget, and utilize an automated accounting system to maintain funds on behalf of assigned Battalion.
Duties
Collaborate with command staff to develop the annual operating budget.
Advises program managers and other interested parties on command fund allocations and budget requirements.
Utilize existing policies and procedures to execute Government Travel and Purchase Card functions.
Reviews commitments and obligations of funds for conformity with the command funding program and priorities
Use an automated accounting system (i.e. General Fund Enterprise Business Systems) to maintain overall control of allocated funds.
Monitor organizational funding requirements to promote efficient resource usage.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) less than 25% required in this position.
- Must obtain and maintain a level 2 Financial Management Certificate.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing an established accounting system (i.e. General Fund Enterprise Business GFEBS) to enter and track data; utilizing financial data to prepare or assist in the formulation of a budget; compiling data to create accounting reports; and analyzing funding requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-07).

Education: Masters degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited college or university, such as Finance and Accounting. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
