Duties
You will support the development of procedures, methods, and techniques used for checkout, acceptance testing, and preparation of software, systems, and hardware.
You will serve as an advisor to management and other technical specialists on critical Information Technology issues.
You will document and initiate response to reported problems.
You will apply security patches and updates to servers and workstations in both test and production environments.
You will research, evaluate, and provide feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements.
You will operate multiple highly complex IT programs and systems that serve numerous customers.
Requirements

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 45 Basic level within 12 months of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the Federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of all IT services.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Developing and implementing programs to ensure that systems, network, and data users are aware of, understand, and adhere to systems security policies and procedures.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Communicating and collaborating with the Command ISSM (CISSM) and Command Security Manager in areas of mutual interest and impact.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Assessing security events to determine impact and implementing corrective actions.
In addition to the four competencies above, your resume must also demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (NO-03) or grade level (GS-11/12) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Knowledge of systems, networks, operating systems, and system architecture; 2) Knowledge of Information Systems security principles, controls, and related disciplines; 3) Knowledge of computer security technologies, objectives, problems and solutions; 4) Ability to serve as subject matter expert within the Industrial Security community; AND 5) Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
