About the Position: Serves as training instructor and participates in course development. Responsible for both pre-instructional and instructional actions including overall maintenance and improvement of assigned course areas of wheel vehicle maintenance and repair. Applies a variety of instructional techniques including lecture, seminar, conference and group discussion, programmed instruction, self-paced instruction, and multimedia instruction.
Duties
Teaches troubleshooting and repair of electrical, hydraulic, drive trains and cooling systems.
Teaches theory of automotive systems and how to read and apply schematics.
Perform maintenance and repair instruction using Army Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals.
Provides instruction using lesson plans, training equipment and training aids.
Provides classroom and hands-on maintenance and repair instruction on Army equipment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in wheel vehicle maintenance/repair; supervising or administering a training program; development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results; work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Logistics, Adult Learning and Leadership, Education.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
