About the Position: Supervisory position serving as Senior Supervisory Training Specialist, Basic Officer Leader Department. Chief of the Training Management Division with responsibility for planning, directing, controlling and coordinating activities of the Division to include contract management, training management, academic records, examination control, scheduling of facilities, ranges/ training areas, resource management oversight, supply management, operations/taskings in the department.
Duties
Direct special project efforts or working groups to resolve training related issues.
Confer with instructors and course designers to discuss course content, training aids, and materials.
Evaluate problems identified during the administration of training and development programs to recommend potential solutions.
Prepare concept papers or written products required for education program accreditation.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, such as supervising or administering a training program, teaching in an adult education program, analysis, design, development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
