About the Position: Serves as the Quartermaster School Chief, Training Management Office, with the responsibility for planning, directing, controlling and coordinating all activities to include Contract Management, Training Management, Academic Records and other program management. Incumbent provides: leadership of Division; analytical services, guidance, and staff advice for all subordinate echelons/ organizational levels within the USAQMS.

Duties

Identifies missions/organization goals, which are essential for successful program completion and the effective training parameters and standards. Serves as the subject matter expert for resident training, which includes Initial Military Training (IMT), noncommissioned officer leader training, and education and professional development at all levels. Coordinates the work of the unit and provides advice and guidance to managers and subordinates on work plans, schedules, methods, and goals of work projects. Applies comprehensive technical and managerial knowledge in coordinating work throughout the QMS and within the Division. Reviews and evaluates effectiveness and quality of staff performance; determines causes of unfavorable trends and directs corrective actions within general policy and program guidance. Prepares briefs, reports, including plans for implementing changes. Reviews and analyzes internal activities work for compliance with mission requirements; initiates appropriate actions to ensure achievement of maximum effectiveness, efficiency, and economy of operations.

  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
