About the Position: Works under general supervision of the Commandant and Deputy to the Commandant, Army Logistics University (ALU), and Non-commissioned Officers (NCO) Academy, who furnishes guidance concerning overall policies, program objectives, and available resources for the Ordnance, Quartermaster and Transportation Branch.
Duties
Manage NCOES training programs, assists in resolving technical and administrative problems by changes in doctrine, policy, schedules, technology, student workloads, facilities, equipment and or instructional methodology.
Assists in determining the NCOA's needs and submits requirements to the appropriate Agency.
Aid in developing or approving requirements for personnel, facilities and materials as a basis for planning the Academy's annual budget forecast.
Anticipate effects of training strategy changes and develops alternatives to ensure continuity of training implementation, coordinates and fully participates with the Academy Commandant on NCOES matters.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires that the employee occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 25% of the time.
- The employee may be required to work overtime. The employee may on occasion be required to work hours other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends or holidays.
- The incumbent may be required to participate in readiness tests, mobilization exercises, and field-training exercises.
- During field training exercises, mobilization or actual wartime conditions, incumbent may be required to live and work in difficult field condition in tents or shelters for a set period of time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that (1) demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes: assisting in conducting analysis and producing collective training products; (2) developing and instructing training courses; and assisting in the performance of analysis, design, development and evaluation of courseware. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Teaching, Education Studies, and Instructional Design.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
