About the Position: This position is located in the US Army Sustainment Command 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center on Fort Cavazos, TX.
Duties
Assist in reviewing and validating deployment/mobilization plans, Homeland Defense Plans and Exercises of supported units for regulatory conformance and required documentation.
Assist in the deployment coordination meetings to establish deployment timelines, requirements and unit readiness.
Validate shipping documentation for unit deployments, production of Military Shipping Labels (MSL) and Radio Frequency TAG production during mission execution.
Participate in originating/revising local and higher headquarters publications in correlation with policies and procedures of command and higher headquarters.
Requirements
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position has been designated as key essential and cannot be filled by an active reservist or retiree with callback orders. Provisions of AR 690-11 must be followed before either of the above can fill this position.
- Irregular work hours required after normal duty hours, weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights.
- Position requires a pre-employment physical.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Preparing and/or verifying shipping requirements for mobility or deployment of military units, and 2) Managing equipment and personnel movements by all modes of transportation such as air, rail, motor, military convoy, and/or ocean transport. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
