About the Position: This position is located with the Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center Fort Cavazos, TX
Duties
Use automated systems such as the Global Decision Support System (GDSS), Integrated Computerized Deployment System (ICODES), Transportation Coordinators - Automated Information for Movements System (TC-AIMS II) to prepare air movement plans.
Operate and participate in all aspects of the Fort Cavazos Power Projection Platform at Robert Gray Army Airfield (RGAAF) to include the Marshaling Area; the Alert Holding Area; the Call Forward Area; and the Loading Ramp Area.
Establish communication with units and coordinates airfield actions with other supporting elements, Contingency Response Element (CRE), RGAAF base operations, Transportation Motor Pool [TMP], and customs/agriculture.
Compute and mark center of balance of deploying loads.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is covered by the civilian drug abuse testing program. Incumbent is required to sign a Condition of Employment Memo for certain civilian positions.
- When necessary, required to work in shifts to cover 24-hour operations.
- Irregular work hours required after normal duty hours (weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights).
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Works in support of other deployment operation missions as required: rail and unit movement planning and execution.
- Employee must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Position is designated key: employee occupying this position may not vacate during war or national emergency without seriously impairing the mission; employee possesses unique, or scarce managerial or technical skills required by the wartime mission.
- A pre-employment physical is required.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain forklift training certification and license.
- Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license and any installation and/or DoD license required for the type of vehicle being driven.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds (e. g. duffel bag).
- This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning and executing movement operations and utilizing automated transportation systems to track and/or plan shipments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
