You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Strike Weapons Division, Digital Engineering Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in Port Hueneme, CA.
Duties
You will provide engineering technical services involved with the execution of work assignments supporting U.S. and allied ships and/or shore facilities.
You will provide technical/consultative services and training during the following: Installation and Check-out, Integration tests, CSSQT, SQT, flight tests, material certifications, and other test/evaluation events.
You will provide problem identification and resolution; instruction in performance of maintenance/installation procedures; and technical information/advice relative to the specific equipment at that site.
You will review problems reported in Naval messages, CASREPs, Feedback Reports, SIPR chat, phone, email or DCAPs.
You will prepare, review, and modify technical documentation during all phases of lifetime support.
You will demonstrate specific knowledge relative to the installation and checkout of combat systems involving radar systems, fire control systems, weapon direction systems, electrical power systems and launching systems.
You will demonstrate knowledge of shipboard combat/weapon system functional elements and interfaces, associated weapon system interfaces, system operational/tactical environments.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
For the GS-12 Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying electronics engineering principles and methods to provide technical guidance, test, and evaluate operational problems on electronic systems, equipment, or components for combat system installation projects and programs aboard ships.
For the GS-11 Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-10) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying electronics engineering principles and methods to test and resolve problems on electronic systems equipment or components for combat system installation projects aboard ships.
