About the Position: You will serve as Fielding Branch Chief in Materiel Fielding and Training Directorate, overseeing two Sections, Lethality and Soldier Survivability, TACOM-Life Cycle Management Command.

Duties

Provides overall management, planning, acquisition, direction, and coordination of Materiel Fielding (MF) and Total Package Fielding (TPF) support activities for Program Managers’ (PM) systems. Provides fielding of TACOM systems worldwide, in support of deployments, contingencies, and foreign country procurements. Develops, coordinates, executes fielding and modernization plans that involves cascading of equipment from one unit to another, and from the active units to national guard units. Coordinates plans with national guard and Army Forces Command (FORSCOM). Provides product support including sustainment, maintenance, and supply support to units fielded with ground combat vehicle systems. Formulates broad policies and objectives for execution of fielding and training in support of research, development, procurement, production, and fielding activities of the PM office. Develops and executes training strategies and concepts to support PM, Foreign Military Sales (FMS), DOD, and other Government agencies, for TACOM managed systems worldwide. Provides direction and execution policy for progressive personnel management of subordinate staff management, workforce utilization, employee-management relations and other personnel matters. Selects candidates for position, prepare employee performance standards and appraisals, and works with personnel specialists on employee development, career management, position and classification.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics Certification within 48 months of entrance on duty.
  • This is a Critical Acquisition Position. This position requires the selectee to remain in Federal service for at least 3 years.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel away from your permanent duty station requirement of up to 25% of the time.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-03 or GS-13 equivalent.
