Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (2) years by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years.
Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
Duties
Direct and manage administrative and functional matters that facilitate execution of programs under the purview of the AECW.
Work on special projects and conduct studies to assess productivity and efficiency of program operations which requires the analysis of interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of substantive mission-oriented programs.
Develop detailed plans, goals, and objectives for the long-range implementation and administration of the program and develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of the program.
Plan and schedule staff actions, meetings, events, personal appearances, and other functions of the Office of the Director and Deputy Director of AECW.
Requirements
- Per AR 600-85, must pass a urinalysis drug test prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a TOP Secret security clearance.
- May require occasional travel up to 10% of duty time.

Specialized experience: One year of experience advising subordinates on policy and procedures for an organization; resolving conflict to ensure control and coordination of programs and operations of high priority within an organization; directing and assigning work directly or through subordinate supervisors; recommending solutions to resolve personnel and/or operational problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
