Position may be filled as a TERM appointment Not-To-Exceed (2) years. TERM appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, TERM appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a TERM appointment will be appointed/ converted into a TERM appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.

Duties

Direct and manage administrative and functional matters that facilitate execution of programs under the purview of the AECW. Work on special projects and conduct studies to assess productivity and efficiency of program operations which requires the analysis of interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of substantive mission-oriented programs. Develop detailed plans, goals, and objectives for the long-range implementation and administration of the program and develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of the program. Plan and schedule staff actions, meetings, events, personal appearances, and other functions of the Office of the Director and Deputy Director of AECW.

Requirements

  • Per AR 600-85, must pass a urinalysis drug test prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain a TOP Secret security clearance.
  • May require occasional travel up to 10% of duty time.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
