DCSA's Security Academy is seeking an Industrial Security Specialist (Regional Academy Instructor) to serve as the primary point-of-contact and mentor for new DCSA Industrial Security Representatives (ISRs) and coordinating training within the DCSA Central Region. This is an excellent opportunity for DCSA employees with expert knowledge & application of a wide range of Industrial Security principles.

As an Industrial Security Specialist (Regional Academy Instructor) you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Developing, delivering, and evaluating DCSA Security Academy training, products and services to employ a variety of training techniques to provide security training worldwide.
- Assessing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating new or modified training courses and products based on DoD policies.
- Conducting routine annual maintenance as applicable to ensure information remains current, relevant, and accurate.
- Coordinating and presenting multidisciplinary security training via instructor-led or virtual instructor led training.
- Implementing new and innovative courses of instruction and training products.
- Demonstrating a highly practical knowledge of DoD security program requirements relative to the NISP and all applicable security disciplines.

- If selected, the incumbent must obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance as indicated in job announcement.
- Security Fundamentals Professional Certification, and the Security Asset Protection Professional Certification, and the Industrial Security Oversight Certification (ISOC) within 24 months of hire.
- Must attain and maintain the CDSE Instructor Certification at the Basic levels within 24 months of initiation of the Instructor Certification Program.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-12in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility.
Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Developing, implementing, and assessing training products and delivery methods.
Industrial Security and National Industrial Security Program (NISP) principles, policies, and procedures.
Reviewing, interpreting, and applying policy changes to existing training and products; Interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, to include public speaking.
Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:
Curriculum Development- Develop training and educational content with corresponding curricular products and services to facilitate competency acquisition.
Instructional Delivery and Learner Development Deliver-provide, and monitor training and education for individuals and groups within learning environments. Tailor and adapt instruction to ensure learners' needs are met and learning outcomes are achieved.
Program Security- Employ an array of traditional, acquisition and security measures to sustain secrecy of highly sensitive United States Government programs and/or activities. Prevent unauthorized disclosure of national security program information throughout the program lifecycle.
Security-Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and guidelines related to securing personnel, facilities, and information, including the requirements for handling, transporting, and protecting classified information and proper reporting of security incidents.
Communication- Communicate (i.e., written and oral) rights, responsibilities, management directives, policies, and/or regulations to employees, supervisors, and/or other pertinent individuals.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
