Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Public Health Analyst, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Leading interagency task forces and workgroups and facilitates meetings with external partners and stakeholders.
Coordinating work within CSAP and SAMHSA on behavioral health services for people with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
Serving as a liaison between program staff and Office of the Director.
Providing and coordinating training, technical assistance (TA), knowledge dissemination and program support on topics of behavioral health services for people with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
Staying abreast of national trends, emerging issues, legislation, the latest research and best practices, CSAP/SAMHSA/Federal programming and initiatives, and data gleaned from programs and surveys.
Developing public-facing resources such as white papers, issue briefs, journal articles, fact sheets and toolkits, as well as briefing binders and talking points for leadership.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Basic Qualifications: Must have experience that provided:
Knowledge of organizational, operational, and programmatic concepts and practices applied by public, private, or nonprofit agencies and organizations engaged in public health or other health-related activities.
Knowledge of the methods, processes, and techniques used to develop and deliver public health or health-related programs in State and local settings.
Knowledge of a specialized public health program.
Knowledge of, and skill in, the application of administrative or analytical methods and techniques necessary for working within the framework of a public health or related organization and carrying out specific program functions.
Skill in oral and written communication, gathering and conveying information, making oral presentations, and preparing reports, correspondence, and other written materials.

Minimum Qualifications: You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing at least three (3)of the following:
Collaborating across office, branches or divisions regarding health/public health policies, policy documents, and establishing program requirements.
Developing strategies to identify and track trends in program data to improve data quality and business practices.
Leading special projects, such as: preparing decision papers relating to notice of funding opportunities for use in briefings or in the development of new program requirements documents.
Implementing decisions for public health programs focused on grants and cooperative agreements.
Providing advice and assistance to leadership and/or stakeholders.
