You will serve as a LEAD ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Deck Machinery Branch (Code 255), Auxiliary Systems Division (Code 250),
Engineering Department (Code 200), of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.
Duties
You will articulate and communicate to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion.
You will train or arrange for the training of team members in methods and techniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish tasks or projects.
You will lead functional checkouts, tests, and inspections of major systems.
You will prepare comprehensive technical reports, and when required, formal correspondence, identifying the root cause and all other significant aspects of the problem and the corrections applied.
You will oversee the MARMC command Shipboard Crane Inspector training program.
You will oversee oversight of contractor assistance with maintaining assessment records for audits
You will supply periodic metrics to show crane availability overhaul time tables indicating project is green, yellow, or orange.
You will initiate contractor requirements prior to CNO availability package lock for technical overhaul and repair of shipboard cranes.
You will provide technical assistance on less urgent but, complex technical problems beyond the capability of forces afloat, intermediate maintenance activities, or repair activities to diagnose and correct.
You will perform functional checkout, grooming, adjustment, and test of new or modernized shipboard systems in a systems qualifications test environment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience interpreting plans, schematics, drawings, specifications, and making field adjustments/modifications though technical knowledge of naval shipboard systems and components through experience in ship repair, operation, or troubleshooting.
Experience conducting shipboard equipment testing, assessments, identifying of out-of-parameter conditions on ships, training team members in methods and techniques of various crane types and models, crane maintenance, and tracking crane assessments/inspections.
Experience negotiating solutions to problems, resolving challenging technical shipboard issues, showing proficiency in the areas of fleet technical assistance, assessments and Inspections, repair recommendations, repair oversight, and logistics support.
Experience leading a team of government employees, military members and contractors in the performance of assigned tasks and assignments though effective communication, both orally and in writing.
