You will serve as an IT Specialist (Data Management/System Administration) in the N6 Department, Naval Aviation Logistics Command Information Systems Division (NALCOMIS), Naval air Station (NAS) San Diego for HELICOPTER MARITIME STRIKE WING PAC.
Duties
You will manage and maintain Naval Aviation Logistics Command Information System (NALCOMIS) on the Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS) Patriot Sybase database and server system files for Virtual Machin (VM) servers.
You will perform full system backups of servers as well as performing disaster recovery procedures and verifying data integrity.
You will perform updates and queries of Sybase database using Structure Query Language (SQL) to access and multiply data.
You will manage and maintain network IP addresses for additional virtual networks.
You will perform system administration function on VMware NTCSS Virtual environment (VE) Host systems, NALCOMIS OIMA, and OOMA VM servers running on multiple server operating systems.
You will participate in planning requirements for systems testing and implementations of new hardware and software upgrades.
You will develop standard operating procedures for all Automated Data Processing tasks and provide technical support and training to other IT personnel.
You will Trouble shoot and resolves hardware and software problems in response to customer report incidents.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 451/421 level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing Information Technology (IT) services to repair and maintain an automated information system.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Education
Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
- successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or
- successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management
