About the Position: This position is accountable to the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE), Command Group, Fort Novosel, AL. Fort Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun.

Duties

Serve as Deputy Chief of Staff and senior advisor, analyst, staff synchronizer, and technical expert to the Commanding General, on issues related to organization and managerial policies, theory, practices, and procedures governing USAACE programs. Conduct strategic analysis and studies in coordination with the USAACE staff and directorates or HQDA, ACOMS, ASCCs, and DRUs to determine appropriate changes required to meet mission requirements for the Army and Army Aviation. Plan, direct, and coordinate a team effort in responding to special taskings from/for the Command Group concerning Command operational issues. Directly supervise personnel of the Command Group support staff, and personnel of the coordinating/special staff.

  • This position requires irregular work hours on short notice.
  • This position requires travel up to 20% of the time on short notice.

AND 3) Perform personnel management work include evaluating employees and effecting disciplinary measures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Managing Human ResourcesPartneringPlanning and EvaluatingProject Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
