About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, Field Support Brigade, Support Operations, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.
Duties
Provide expert oversight and management of dispersed operational units, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, efficient use of resources, and alignment with strategic objectives.
Conduct evaluations of operations, facilities, and logistics support systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing data-driven solutions to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of operations.
Serve as the liaison between operational units, higher management, and external organizations, ensuring consistent communication of policies, addressing procedural issues, and aligning activities with organizational goals.
Monitor operational units for adherence to safety and logistical policies, prepare reports and recommendations, and adjust operational strategies to ensure performance goals are met and continuous improvement is achieved.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance of access for the duration of employment which includes a background investigation and credit check.
- This position requires the Incumbent to obtain and maintain training certification IAW AMCR 350-4, Training and Certification Program for Personnel Working in Ammunition Operations. Training must be scheduled within 90 days of assignment.
- This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel approximately 25% of the time away from your permanent duty station. Travel may include site visits in overseas locations.
- This Position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain an Official U.S. Passport.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Managing the storage / handling or distribution of ammunition and explosives; 2) Providing logistical support to units regarding the safe management of munitions; 3) Ensuring compliance with safety regulations for the storage or handling of equipment; and 4) Implementing improvements in logistics operations to support readiness This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
