About the Position: This position is for a Transition Services Specialist GS-0301-11 with the Installation Management Command, Directorate of Human Resources Military Personnel Division Transition Center located at Fort Carson, CO.
Duties
Identify and establish training requirements to meet the needs of the transitioning workforce.
Analyze job market, industries and career fields to ensure program services are current with the revolving demands of the market.
Track suspense's using automated suspense system to ensure timely response on information.
Draft correspondence using correct format, grammar and punctuation to address subject of an administrative nature, both internal and external.
Prepares and conducts briefings, orientations, and special presentation materials to promote the transition program.
Provide advice and guidance on transition workforce issues and/or problems.
Utilize PowerPoint and Microsoft programs or similar database programs to create presentations for training/workshops related to Soldier/Family support programs.
Develop plans to keep commanders, public officials, employers and other key players abreast of the program policies, procedures, trends, and problems.
Requirements

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes demonstrated specialized experience:1) Experience with military personnel programs to include transition processing and benefits; 2) Experience providing administrative support to a military transition program; and 3) Experience providing pre-separation and/or pre-retirement briefings.
OR
Education: Successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. A combination of education and experience.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
