About the Position: This position may be filled as a temporary promotion not to exceed 2 years by a current permanent employee. Temporary promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years and may be made permanent without further competition.

Duties

Formulate and implement all training plans, directives and procedures, reports and studies for active Army training of units and individuals assigned. Monitor, review, and assess training support technology trends and program developments for new or modified requirements and adaptability to current and planned infrastructure and programs. Coordinate directly with commanders, staff, and unit representatives to schedule and control the use of garrison training facilities, areas, and ranges. Responsible for drafting input for training support documents and plans, to include installation Range Development, Range Complex Master Plan, Installation Status Report, Installation Digital Training Strategy and more.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes the execution and integration of the range operations and training area management, Battle Simulation Center (BSC) operations, Training Support Center (TSC) operations, distance learning operations, training support to the Army Reserve and National Guard (USAR and NG) components, training ammunition management; and support to military schools and institutional training programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision MakingManaging Human ResourcesPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical Credibility Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
