About the Position: Serve as the Chief, Plans and Operations Division, Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security at a large garrison which has been designated as a most optimized strategically responsive (MOSR) garrison within the Installation Management Command

Duties

Ensure support annexes for plans and operations orders are developed to compliment emergency contingency plans of higher headquarters. Coordinate the relocation of existing units, activation and stationing of new units, and absorption of newly created units into the Army structure. Facilitate for the garrison executive agency responsibilities in the areas of combating terrorism/force protection and domestic emergencies. Plan, oversee, assign, and evaluate work of subordinates in the unit and assures reasonable equity among subordinates of performance standards and rating techniques developed. Research, prepare and present briefings on force modernization plans to garrison command group and others on a need-to-know basis.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Assisting with setting up force protection programs in accordance with regulations; 3. Overseeing personnel management such as assigning work, rating, and determining training needs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
