You will serve as a Supervisory Inspector General in the Office of Inspector General (Code N00G) as a Special Assistant, reporting directly to Commander, Naval Education and Training Command (CNETC) and has additional reporting responsibilities to the Naval Inspector General (NAVIG).

Duties
You will apply management principles and interpersonal relations skills necessary to direct, guide, and manage the efforts of teams dealing with controversial and sensitive issues.
You will gather and analyze data, and review issues to develop sound, logical and innovative solutions to complex DON training and education problems of military and civilian personnel.
You will speak and write convincingly and authoritatively on the areas of responsibility to brief senior leadership.
You will advise command on IG functions, fraud, waste, mismanagement, and related improprieties.
You will conduct inspections and reviews in accordance with directives and inspection standards.
You will supervise and assess employee performance and conduct.
You will apply general knowledge of DON budgeting processes.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- Must obtain and maintain Naval Inspector General Certifications, including Team Member, Inspector and Investigator (Intake, Investigator, Military Whistleblower/Reprisal).
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Planning and conducting investigations while ensuring hotline complaints are investigated in accordance with command guidance; 2) Establishing and interpreting Inspector General (IG) policy on program and IG matters and advise HQs and staff on such matters; 3) Overseeing/mentoring civilian staff, including ability to provide technical and administrative guidance (i.e. performance counseling, discipline, incentives, professional development); 4) Directing and conducting inspections, investigations, evaluations and special reviews in matters of fraud, waste, abuse and mismanagement of programs throughout the command; and 5) Applying innovative investigative methods to solve technically complex and/or intricate, sensitive, or unprecedented problems, in the use of management, auditing and investigation theory, procedures and methodology.
