You will serve as a DEPUTY INSPECTOR GENERAL in the Office of Inspector General of NAVAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING COMMAND.
Duties
You will brief executive level leadership on the progress achieved toward meeting programs strategic objectives.
You will draft annual inspection or evaluation plans that focus on Inspector General resources for the highest priority activities.
You will confirm resources are used efficiently and programs, processes, and operations are conducted with integrity and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
You will edit and incorporate written input from other inspectors to achieve an inspection report with a consistent style and format.
You will analyze information obtained through investigations and inspections to identify areas of weakness within the command as it relates to matters of discipline, integrity, efficiency, and readiness.

- Incumbent provides technical supervision to a subordinate staff.
- Work is usually office oriented and requires attendance at conferences/workshops and involves the conduct of inspections, investigations, and meetings.
- Position requires scheduled travel as well as unexpected trips to meet unscheduled short-fused deadlines.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) advises leadership on command issues related to planning and conducting command inspections and hotline complaint investigations, (i.e., analyzing data to prepare trend analysis, proposing preventive measures to circumvent fraud, waste, abuse, mismanagement and other improprieties); 2) provides technical guidance to the Command Inspection Process Advisers in identifying their requirements for conducting the command inspection process and post-command inspection follow up responsibilities; 3) oversees the Hotline Complaint Program investigators by reviewing allegations, assigning cases to investigators, analyzing and evaluating reports, assuring proper submission and ensuring files are maintained; 4) reviews results of investigations and pursues corrective actions until appropriate measures (i.e.; administrative or disciplinary actions, recoupment of funds) have been completed; and 5) reviews the work of the Command Evaluation Officer and staff to ensure data is accurate and appropriate for signature.
