About the Position: This is an Administrative Support Assistant position with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, Engineering and Construction Division. This position is located in Little Rock, AR. This position may be filled at the GS-05 or GS-06 with promotion potential to the GS-07 or may be filled at the full performance level of GS-07. Promotion to the full performance grade level is at the discretion of management.

Duties

Perform a wide variety of duties to support the administrative functions of the office. Receive visitors to include answering phone calls. Maintain property book records. Utilize automated equipment to include a variety of software programs. Prepare estimates to be used in projected operating budget for supplies, equipment, etc. Prepare travel orders and travel vouchers for supported employees.

FOR THE GS-05: Specialized Experience for GS-05: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a variety of clerical assignments to support an organization, such as recordkeeping, replenishing supplies, and receiving visitors and phone calls. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR, Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR, Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. FOR THE GS-06: Specialized Experience for GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes at least 2 out of the following 3 duties: 1) assisting with an office budget; OR 2) utilizing automated office software to prepare documents, correspondence or spreadsheets; OR 3) performing administrative support duties for an office such as timekeeping and coordinating travel arrangements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). FOR THE GS-07: Specialized Experience for GS-07: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal Service performing 2 out of 3 of the following duties: 1) tracking expenditures for an office budget using an automated financial management system; or 2) consolidating or preparing data for reports; or 3) performing administrative support duties for an office, such as property record maintenance, training coordination, and tracking personnel actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Integrity/HonestyManages and Organizes InformationTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement for the GS-5: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-4). Time in Grade Requirement for the GS-6: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-5). Time in Grade Requirement for the GS-7: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-6).

Education
