This MANAGEMENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST is located at an Air National Guard (ANG) Group Commander's Support Staff (CSS) unit and is part of the CA 146 AW.

Duties

THIS IS A T5 EXCEPTED SERVICE, INDEFINITE POSITION Selectee may be non-competitively converted to permanent status if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered. The primary purpose of the MANAGEMENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST, GS-0301-9, is to administer and direct the Group Commander's Support Staff functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Additionally, trains personnel in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.

Qualifications

MANAGEMENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST, GS-0301-9: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-07 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: Collaborating with Unit Training and Deployment Managers to identify, schedule, conduct, and document Services specific training and align priorities with wing requirements to ensure all objectives are fulfilled; Maintaining thorough understanding of readiness reporting requirements and provides documentation of relevant sustainment services training statistics to applicable monitors for inclusion in associated reports; Coordinating with contracting officer to establish formal contracts or Blanket Purchase Agreements with local hotels or with host installation agencies to support non-commuting members. Education

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work required.
