You will serve as a GG-14 Supervisory Intelligence Specialist in the Analytic Modernization and Middle East Naval Strategy and Operations Division of the NIMITZ OPERATIONAL INTELLIGENCE CENTER. This position is located in Suitland, MD. DNA conducts long-term, penetrating, all-source analysis and production in support of theater and Navy component-level strategy, operational, campaign and war planning through detailed assessments of foreign naval forces and their maritime strategies.

Duties

You will serve as the Division Head of the Analytic Modernization and Middle East Naval Strategy and Operations in the Nimitz Warfare Analysis Center's Department of Naval Analysis, responsible for building collaborative relationships and networks. You will fulfill the full breadth of first-level line supervisor responsibilities, to include building and leading a team. You will manage a high-op tempo Middle East team of 9 people, and an ELINT section of 9 people that supports 5 other Divisions. You will manage General Military Intelligence (GMI) analysis, focused on foreign navies, utilizing an organizational structure comprised of military and civilian personnel. You will manage resource planning, execution, contracts, organizational level program, and personnel requirements You will also stand-up a new Analytic Modernization team of 5 people to include defining the functions and tasks of the new team in accordance with leadership mission priorities and guidance.

Requirements

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
  • This position may requires a 2-Year DCIPS trial period requirement.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following such as: 1) Lead and direct a unit or branch in accordance with guidance from the command or a higher organization; 2) Identify developmental training needs of employees to arrange needed development training; and 3) Execute the branch's plans and budgets that oversee all financial resources within the command. 4) Manage the branch's analysis and production processes in a manner that promotes adherence to community standards regarding quality and analytical elements.
